Robert Triggs / Android Authority
We recently published our article on the AA Daily Drivers team, which examines the phones we use every day. Are you curious about the phones that your compatriots use, however? Well, this article is for you.
We have dug Google Analytics to reveal the most popular phones you, our readers, use. More specifically, the models that visited the site during a 30 -day period between March 7 and April 7, 2025. So, without further delay.
Top 10 player phones per model
First of all, a little household maintenance. The iPhone has launched an in progress key while Google Analytics reports all iPhones under a single device name, representing 11.99% of the total. In addition, a huge ~ 26% of active user devices have been listed as “not defined”, which means that Google Analytics could not determine the model or brand of the device. Needless to say, I did not include these two figures in the above graph.
With this, the most popular individual model used by readers is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Meanwhile, Google’s Pixel 8 Pro was the second most popular model, and the Galaxy S23 finished the podium.
It should be noted that these phones were the most premium models in their respective families. It suggests that many Android authority Readers prioritize advanced features on budgetary prices. High -end phones also tend to age better than mid -range or basic flagship models.
Android readers Authority really like their high -end Pixel and Galaxy phones.
Interestingly, eight of the 10 most popular individual models were Pixel phones. It is a bit of a surprise at first glance, because Google does not benefit from a ton of market share in the world or in the United States. We tend to focus on Android lovers, however, and pixels are undoubtedly the most popular brand for this demographic group because of their smooth software, their fast updates and their long update strategy. So I can understand why so many pixels have cracked the top 10.
I must also emphasize that the Google Pixel 6a (ninth) is the only model on the list of the 10 best which is not a flagship Android phone. Google’s 2022 model was launched at $ 449 and then received a price drop of $ 100, making it a profitable means of jumping on the pixel train.
Do you hope manufacturers of more varied phones on the list? Me too. The first Android phone on the list that is not from Google or Samsung is the phone 2A, although in 43rd place.
Top phones by brand
I also looked at the 100 best smartphones used by Android authority readers to compare the most popular smartphones brands. Consult our graphic below.
The graph reveals that Google is the most popular phone brand, representing 34.1% of the 100 best devices on the site. Samsung phones were closely, a third of the phones being Galaxy devices.
In third place is Apple, 27.8% of the 100 best devices on the site are Apple devices. It would be strangely hilarious if some of these owners were behind the derising cries of “Apple Authority” on the website.
However, there is a clear drop after the three main manufacturers. Motorola was a fourth very distant (1.72%), followed by OnePlus (1.13%), nothing (1.07%) and Xiaomi (0.87%).
It should be reiterated that these results relate to the 100 best models used by readers. Therefore, certain modifications are to be expected in relation to the search for all devices visiting our website. But this ventilation always gives a good idea of the most popular brands.
What is the best Android version?
What about the software used by Android authority Visitors, however? I also unearthed the most popular Android versions seen on reading devices. Android 15 could be the latest stable version, but it is not quite the most popular version.
This honor goes to Android 14, which represented almost 40% of all active Android devices during the period. Android 15 was the second most popular version of Google software, operating on 33% of Android devices visiting the site. In third place is Android 13, with 10.64% of Android devices performing this version.
The latest version of Android is not the most popular, with Samsung in the way behind Google and other OEMs.
These results suggest that Android manufacturers still have a lot of work to do to publish the latest version of Android in a timely manner. In fact, I suppose that the extended Samsung UI 7 development cycle is partly to blame for Android 15 late, since we have so many Samsung users.
Strangely, Android 10 (6.99%) seems to be more popular than Android 12 and Android 11. I don’t know if it is an error or if the 2019 software from Google is really used by many Android authority visitors.
It is also interesting to see that 1.02% of Android devices visiting the website run Android 16 still publishing. The software has received several beta outings, however, it is clear that some readers really want to stay on the bleeding edge.
Are you surprised to see that Google and the best Samsung phones are the most popular models used by readers? What do you do with my results in general? Let us know in the comments!
