WhatsApp correct iOS, mac ‘zero click “Bogue used in targeted attacks on Apple devices


WhatsApp in meta has corrected a major security bug in its iOS and Mac applications, which was used to hack Apple devices. He targeted specific users in a furtively. The bug is followed as CVE-2025-5517, according to WhatsApp.

This bug, also known as the “zero click” bug, worked with another Apple flaw, labeled Friday like CVE-2025-43300, WhatsApp said on Friday.

Apple called on the “extremely sophisticated” attack and noted that it only aimed at certain people, according to a report by the news platform for American Techcrunch technology. WhatsApp has confirmed that dozens of users have been affected due to the bug and that the problem has now been solved.

Donncha ó Cearbhaull, who heads the Amnesty International security laboratory, described the attack on “advanced campaign of spy software” on X. He said that he had used “zero click” defects to silently target users since the end of May, requiring any user interaction to compromise the apparatus.

“The new zero -click feat used to hack Whatsapp users. WhatsApp has just sent a series of threat notifications to people who, according to them, have been targeted by an advanced campaign of spy software in the last 90 days. Look for experts’ help if you have received this alert,” read the post X post from Cearbhail.
