The hard truth
But the truth is, and I will be frank, if devices like the Rabbit R1 was what consumers wanted to buy, Apple and Samsung / Google would do them. PEI and all the other CEOs in the mobile industry know this. I do not know what nothing will look like at AI, but I know that it will probably be based on Android, with access to the Google suite of mobile services and the Play Store. What I hope to see are products that “speak” and “learn” each other.
The vision
Imagine having a Nothing ai OS account and using it for several devices like Your phone, headphones, tablet or anything “intelligent”. What you do on a device can affect what’s going on on others without making decisions if they are well linked. It might need to be incredibly intrusive with regard to your privacy, but whoever does the right way first will be ahead of the game once everyone has understood.
I think that is what nothing draws: an operating system in Android on each device it sells, smartphones with smart glasses, with AI and cooked intelligence so that everything works together. It’s the same thing as Samsung, Google, Apple, Xiaomi and everyone work. Nothing is small enough, handy enough and daring enough to do it where other companies must be more cautious.
Nothing is likely to do the next R1 rabbit or human pine AI, and probably does not intend to try it. Nothing wants to do the next Pixel 10 in a way that works better with the Pixel 10 version of a watch or headphones. Intelligent devices being smarter together would be the next breakthrough that we will continue to hear.
