Google announced this week its new range of pixel phones, the Pixel 10,, 10 proAnd 10 pro XLBut rather than complete design revisions, these are refreshed versions of series 9 (and essentially identical appearance).

Instead, we obtain a handful of software and support equipment for the 10, including one that pixel users have been waiting for one (very) time: pixelsnap, a Qi2 magnetic wireless load function resembling Apple Magsafe.

That’s right. Finally, Android is invited to the Magnetic Snap Party, the Pixel 10 being the first Android to support the wireless load with a magnetic snap and the Qi2 load standard. Google Lance Pixelsnap alongside three accessories to start, with an entire ecosystem of brand accessories that arrives on the road.

Given that technology here is based on the Qi2 wireless load standard, all of the Magsafe accessories previously marketed for iPhones will work on the Pixel 10. This opens a ton of options for Android users that have previously been relegated to bypass and third -party products with variable degrees.

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has announced its continuation of a standardized system for Apple and Android devices two years ago, but Qi2 magnetic loading technology in phones has disappeared a lot in Android devices for years.

This despite the fact that Androids were the first to offer a wireless load more than 10 years ago, but have since been exceeded by the Magsafe function of the iPhone, which has generated a whole ecosystem of products, from wallets to chargers via other accessories.

Google brand products that release today include the Pixelsnap ring stand for $ 29, which simply supports your phone on a surface and acts as a secondary handle, the Pixelsnap charger that breaks on the back of the phone but has a wired connection for $ 39, and a combined charger with a stand for $ 69.

You can expect a multitude of new products in the Pixelsnap ecosystem soon, including everything we see of Magsafe products such as car supports, handles, wallets and other unique accessories.

All the new ones Pixel 10 The models will support the Pixelsnap wireless load, reaching speeds up to 25W, the Qi2 standard for iPhones and Android devices.

For Apple, this means losing its majority market share in the category of Magsafe accessories, because many devices that have previously been marketed for the iPhone will now work on the Pixel 10. If additional Android models open to this functionality (and they will certainly), it will no longer be a unique sales argument.
