XAI seems to prepare a new screen sharing capacity for Grok’s vocal mode on iOS. This unprecedented feature would allow the assistant to view the user’s screen in real time, allowing contextual tasks such as live translation, application of the application or support during the device navigation. Although similar features have already been implemented in chatgpt vocal mode, it would be the first time that Grok has included access to the direct screen on iOS. It marks a notable step towards greater agent type behavior, where Grok does not listen to only, but also observes the digital environment of the user.

This screen sharing integration seems to coincide with a minor visual adjustment of the vocal user interface on iOS, where a more bluish secondary change gives the interface a cleaner and more visible contrast. However, Android users remain a step back. Although they recently had access to the Rex voice and saw a remedial voice selection user interface, the wider parity of features, in particular with capacities such as access to the screen, has not yet been carried out.
XAI continues to prepare Grok 3.5 for the next version. A new reference of “Grok-3-5-API-2K-2K” model reference was identified in the latest web version, as well as mention of “Grok 3.5 flexible input”.

The update comes at a time when expectations around Grok 3.5 go up, but without any clear launch chronology. Compared to the regular deployments of Openai, Anthropic and Google, XAI has not yet published a new generation upgrade of a similar range. While XAI widens the Grok functionality on mobile, this feature indicates a thrust to catch up with the ecosystems of competitors where multimodal and assistant style tools already become standard.
