The first pair of XREAL Android XR glasses, “Project aura”, was announced alongside Google I / O last month, and new details are now on the screen and you will need a wired “washer” to power the experience.
“Project aura” is the second confirmed product to execute Android XR of Google. Glasses, just like other Xreal products, are not necessarily for the wear of a day. On the contrary, they act essentially as a very compact VR / XR helmet, in particular compared to something like Meta Quest or the next “Project Moohan” helmet from Samsung.
XREAL also teases great progress on the material side for this version. The company has updated its website With some details more on “Project will”, as well as to offer more information to the World Expo (AWE) increase as captured by Gizmodo.
“Project will” will include a 70 -degree field of view, making it the “largest screen” that the company has produced to date. A new “flat prism lens” allows this broader field of vision despite being much smaller than the existing objectives. “Aura” will also include an X1S chipset next to its snapdragon chip, with X1S being a modified version of the chipset found in XREAL ONE And XREAL ONE PRO.
However, this power of treatment is not found in the glasses themselves.
At AWE, Xreal has confirmed that “Project will” will require a device “similar to the washer” to house all the components that feed Android XR. A wire integrated into the glasses will connect to this device which is in your pocket and disconnects for easier storage. Other XREAL products operate similarly, but generally to connect to other types of devices. “Moohan project” by Samsung and Apple pro vision Also require to be connected to an external battery, it is therefore certainly not weird for Xreal to unload the power of treatment And Battery on an external device to keep the glasses themselves compact. Xreal has not yet shown what this external “washer” will look like. Your smartphone will not be able to act as this external computer device either.
XREAL also confirmed that “Project will” will have forward -facing sensors for hand monitoring.
As for the version window, Xreal has confirmed via its website (as well as a job This went under the radar last month) that “Project will have” will not arrive on the market before 2026, which means that this second Android XR helmet is still at least six months of the launch.
