Readers whose corporate devices are blocked on older iOS versions: Zoom’s latest version notes say that the application will soon end the management of iOS 13 and iOS 14. Here is what this means in practice.
As note by MacmagazineUpdating today’s zoom to version 6.5.10 includes the following version notes:
General characteristics:
-Dusion of the end of support for iOS 13 and iOS 14Characteristics of meetings:
-Enumence to join personal meeting rooms
Although the company does not offer a specific calendar, this means that the application will soon require iOS 15 or later. Fortunately, each iPhone that could run iOS 13 can also run iOS 15, so material compatibility should not be a problem.
The same goes for iPads. Although the publication notes of iPados also mention the “end to come from the support for iOS 13 and iOS 14”, it is reasonable to assume that this also includes iPados 13 and iPados 14. Here too, no devices will be left behind: all the iPads that have taken care of iPados 13 can also execute iPados 15.
In the end, it is a software cut, probably due to a declining number of users still on older versions. However, company devices are often locked on obsolete software for various reasons. If this is your case and you count on zoom for work, it may be time to call it and finally get this update of the system expected for a long time.
