Another inch of rain possible Monday night in Sioux Falls


It will be another rainy night Monday in Sioux Falls, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

By Tuesday morning, the city could see up to an additional inch of rain as storms move through the region beginning Monday afternoon, although severe storms are not expected.

Minnehaha County, however, remains under a wind advisory until 7 p.m., with gusts over 40 miles per hour possible this afternoon.

Here is the weather forecast for the rest of the week, according to the NWS:

This afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 70. Windy, with a southeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. The probability of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts to between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible from thunderstorms.
