Foo Fighters and Noah Kahan to headline Soundside Fest in Connecticut

A (sort of) new music festival has entered the conversation: On Tuesday, Soundside Music Festival announced that Foo Fighters and Noah Kahan will headline its first-ever festival in Bridgeport, Conn., in September .

Soundside replaces Connecticut’s old Sound on Sound with a new name and promoter, C3 Presents, which runs festivals such as Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Governors Ball in New York.

The two-day festival will take place at Seaside Park in Bridgeport on September 28 and 29 and will feature performances by Queens of the Stone Age, Goo Goo Dolls, Teddy Swims, Fleet Foxes, Norah Jones and Boyz II Men, among others.

Long Live the Riff Raff, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, the War and Treaty, Thee Sacred Souls, Madi Diaz and Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories will also make appearances at the two-day festival.

“I am very pleased that Bridgeport will once again be host to this year’s Soundside Music Festival, formerly known as Sound On Sound,” Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim said in a press release. “In recent years, this festival has attracted more than 50,000 visitors. I’m sure this year tens of thousands of people will once again be able to experience all that Bridgeport has to offer.

Tendency

The festival will feature a single-stage rotating setup and feature gourmet fare from Connecticut-based restaurants and vendors. Tickets for the festival are set to go on sale Thursday, May 16 at 12 p.m. ET, although fans can access a two-hour presale before tickets are made available to the general public.

Tickets start at $159, with layaway plans starting at $25 down. Local residents are also entitled to 15 percent off tickets.
