2h21: So close to a Nugent-Hopkins birthday goal. Evan Bouchard made a pass towards the backdoor for number 93, but it hit his skate and was ultimately cleared by Vejmelka, leaving the opportunity unfinished. At the other end of the field, Bouchard managed to clear the puck over the glass with a hard hit during a pass attempt, resulting in an unlucky delay of game penalty.

7:19 a.m.: Pickard denies Keller the glove on a wide-open look for Arizona’s leading scorer.

9:59 a.m.: KANE OUT OF THE POST! The winger saw his first shot stopped by Karel Vejmelka before hitting the iron after Warren Foegele curled a puck in front of the Coyotes net.

1:51 p.m.: The ‘Yotes take the first penalty of the evening on a strike from Michael Carcone on the stick of Derek Ryan.

2:40 p.m.: The Desert Dogs go on stage first. Pickard was handcuffed by a Jack McBain shot that came off a run created by former Oilers prospect Michael Kesselring before a second-generation Coyotes player, Josh Doan, buried the rebound between the marks. 1-0 Coyotes.

4:43 p.m.: Sean Durzi crosses the legs with the puck on Vincent Desharnais and tries to get around Pickard with his next move, but the Oilers goaltender reads him and makes the save.

8:00 p.m.: GAME ON!

Connor McDavid will be out of the lineup for a second straight game after not taking the ice for warmups, and Troy Stecher will replace Cody Ceci, who is also a day-to-day presence.
