Texas A&M baseball is one win away from playing in its first College World Series championship series, and the Aggies’ pursuit of that goal is already delayed.
And it’s not because of Mother Nature.
Texas A&M’s CWS semifinal game against Florida is delayed due to the Gators’ long 15-4 win over Kentucky at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha earlier Wednesday. The long playoff game between the Gators and Wildcats pushed back the first semifinal game of the day between No. 1 Tennessee and No. 8 Florida State by 45 minutes. Texas A&M and Florida were originally scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

The Aggies and Gators were originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch in Omaha on Wednesday, but that time is pushed back to 6:55 p.m. CT due to the length of the FSU-Tennessee game. The 65-minute clock for the first pitch between TAMU and Florida didn’t start until after Tennessee-Florida State concluded.
The Vols and Seminoles were delayed 45 minutes due to the Kentucky vs. Florida game late Wednesday morning. You’ll still be able to watch Texas A&M and Florida on ESPN or on Fubo, which carries the ESPN family of networks and offers a free trial to some users. Kentucky and Florida were originally scheduled to face off on Tuesday in Omaha, but heavy rain and bad weather prevented that from happening, postponing that playoff game until Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT.

Texas A&M is 2-0 in the CWS for the first time in program history. The Aggies opened their trip to Omaha with a 3-2 win over Florida on Saturday – after a four-hour weather delay – before defeating No. 2 Kentucky 5-1 on Monday.
If Texas A&M — which could be without star outfielder Jace LaViolette, who is dealing with a hamstring injury — wins Wednesday, Jim Schlossnagle’s team will advance to the CWS best-of-three championship series.
