Usher’s son stole his phone to log into PinkPantheress

Usher is having a big year – the R&B mainstay has released a new album called Go home and performed on the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Today, he took to Instagram Stories to share how his son recently stole his phone in an attempt to connect with PinkPantheress.

About a week ago, according to the musician, his son Naviyd, 15, took his phone to slide into the DMs of “his favorite artist” PinkPantheress. In one message, he asked the 23-year-old viral pop singer to follow his Instagram account, much to PinkPantheress’s surprise: “hahahahahaa,” she replied, “it’s wild!” Naviyd responded that he didn’t think she was going to respond and thanked her for liking his post.

When Usher noticed this, he apologized to PinkPantheress, who graciously offered to host them at a show. Naviyd ended up attending and the two took a photo together. Usher closed the post with his (questionable) parenting remarks:

It was a big moment for Naviyd…it was him moving on something he was passionate about.

Yes…he violated my trust in the process and for that I will never trust him around my phone, but I should have known better.

Nonetheless, I enjoy the hustle and making it happen.

From a text, to a concert, to the artist.

He orchestrated all of this and made it happen.
